Armed Robbery Alert
There was an armed robbery in Mendocino Court on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 about 9 PM. The robbers hid somewhere (bushes?) then ran into the garage while the victim was parking his car. The victim had promptly lowered the garage door (unaware of what was about to happen), so the robbers placed a foot inside to get the door to reverse and raise again. When it was up far enough that he could see the victim, he pointed his gun at victim's chest, and demanded the victim's wallet. (He got it.) The wallet included driver's license, Social Security card credit and debit cards.
The three robbers then fled on foot to the park, and shortly emerged in a car at a high rate of speed. Police came well after their exit.
Thursday afternoon, immediately after mail delivery, another car proceeded from the park, turning into Mendocino Court and making a circuit of the cul-de-sac before departing. The driver of that vehicle saw a pedestrian, which may have disrupted his plans. There was a passenger in the car, so that removal of mail from a mailbox could have been accomplished very quickly. It was a late-model dark blue four-door vehicle, license plate HYA 187
Conclusion: There is an armed-robbery, probably identity-theft ring that may be setting up for "work" in the Vintage Estates Neighborhood. Be on guard!

On February 12th at 10:45pm our garrage was broken into, our cars were searched, the only things that were taken was a leatherman multi-tool (stamped with City Of Albuquerque on it) and a blue ipod mini with the engraving "L Brett Waller" and our phone number 255-1000. The side door of the garage was accessed by the doggy door and the deadbolt was removed. Please keep your door between the house and garage locked.
I forgot to say that we live on Vineyard Ridge Road. And that our neighbors gates were also left open.
