Water use restrictions on sprinkling
The Water Utility Authority recently (May 17) changed the summer rules. Briefly, they can assess a fine if someone is observed sprinkling their lawn between 11 AM and 7 PM, and the fines can be substantial, beginning at $40 for the first violation, and rising to $4,000 for the nineth violation.

These pages also warn us that there will be an additional rule change on July 1, restricting the days on which we can water our lawns. Specifically, houses with an even address can water only on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, while houses with an odd address can water only on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Unlike the Greeks, we Albuquerqueans shall water Never On Friday.
