Meet the real man of 'Hotel Rwanda,' Paul Rusesabagina

What: A talk by the author of An Ordinary Man
Paul Rusesabagina is the hotel manager who saved the lives of over a thousand people during the horrific Rwandan genocide of 1994. His story was brilliantly portrayed by Don Cheadle in the recent film Hotel Rwanda. Confronting killers with diplomacy, flattery, and strategic deceit, he protected hunted members of the Tutsi clan and Hutu sympathizers within Kigali's Hotel Mille Collines, while slaughter occurred literally right outside the doors. Rusesabagina is the hero of Rwanda's bloody conflict, and, in An Ordinary Man, he tells his story for the first time.
Tickets for the event are simply the price of the book, $23.95 plus tax, and include one copy of the new book An Ordinary Man. One additional ticket can be purchased for the talk for $5.00 with each regular ticket ($23.95) purchased. Students with a valid student ID may purchase tickets for the talk for $5.00, and ID's must be shown at the door with ticket. The $5.00 ticket may be used as a coupon toward the price of the book at the event only. Tickets are available now at Bookworks, Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, and Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice. To purchase tickets by phone, call Bookworks at 344-8139. The talk begins at 4:00pm, and Rusesabagina will sign books, time permitting, following the talk.
